The ProPump & Controls, Inc. Field Service Technician is responsible for service, installation, and repair of automated pump stations, pump controls, piping, valves, and related equipment, within their assigned operating area. They are expected to identify opportunities for both new equipment and service sales, and work with both their Regional Field Service Manager and the Inside Sales Manager, as required, to secure orders for the company. As a representative of the company in direct contact with end-user customers, the Field Service Technician is expected to conduct themselves in a highly professional manner at all times.Responsibilities of a ProPump Field Technician Include:Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues on automated pump systems.Use a multimeter, process meter, megger, vibration meter, laser alignment tool, and other instruments to diagnose pump motors and controls issues.Instruct customers on proper procedures for operating and maintaining equipment.Install pump stations, pumps, and motors using cranes and other heavy equipment.Set up and maintain telemetry networks utilizing radios, cellular modems, DSL lines, etc.Perform pump station preventive maintenance, including: -Lubricate motor bearings -Change oil in turbine motors -Re-pack pumps -Inspect and rebuild hydraulic control valves -Inspect and clean wye strainers and filter screens -Inspect pump screens and wet well with the use of an underwater camera -Measurement of pump and motor performance using Promote sales of company products and services to solve customer problems.RequirementsMinimum Qualifications: Excellent customer service skillsMust be able to read and interpret wiring schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical literature. Computer proficiency.Ability to pass a background check (criminal history, DMV) Valid Driver's License and clean driving record. (No DUI's)At least 1 year+ experience working with mechanical or electrical equipment (ex: automotive, electronics, computers, etc.)An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, which provide the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities, and other competencies required for the positions will be considered.Experience: Working knowledge of electricity as it relates to electric motors and pumps.Strongly prefer work experience with electric pumps, 3-phase motors, and controls, including relay logic, PLC, and VFD systems. Will consider recent graduates with associate degree in electrical engineering or mechatronics, or college level science or engineering courses Experience with any of the following is of interest to us: -3 phase motors and controls-water and wastewater plants and instrumentation-golf course mechanic, irrigation technician, or superintendent -SCADA and radio telemetry systems- Cla-Val or other brand hydraulic control valves- Experience with computerized work order systems and the preparation of workPhysical Demands: Capable of lifting 50 pounds Able to work long hours when required-When a critical piece of equipment is down, we do whatever it takes to get our customers back in serviceTolerant of outdoor work in the Florida climateTravel/overnight stays are occasionally necessarySalary Description $45,000 - $80,000 / year
