Position Number: 012509 Department: Athletics Venues (Adm) Employment Type: Permanent - Full-time Months Per Year: 12 Essential Duties and Responsibilities: + Coordinate athletic field maintenance with University Facilities Management Grounds. + Responsible for the maintenance/preparation of all athletic facilities which may include but is not limited to; field lining, field maintenance, field repair, irrigation management, and hard surface prep (tennis courts/track surface). + Coordinates athletic department waste management including cleaning of all facilities post-event through contracted services, student workers, etc. Ensures all facilities are clean for practices and competitions. + On the preventative maintenance schedule for all utility vehicles. Perform minor maintenance repairs on equipment or vehicles. Diagnose equipment problems and repair if capable, if not, connect with supervisor to arrange for professional maintenance. + Assist with game management for Charlotte Softball. + Coordinate snow removal with UNC Charlotte FM and athletics staff for all facilities including Barnhardt Student Activity Center/Halton Arena. Minimum Experience / Education: Required Minimum Qualifications: Some knowledge of grounds keeping procedures, ability to follow instructions and to perform medium to heavy physical work; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. University Preferred Qualifications: Graduation from high school, or completion of its equivalency, and two (2) years of related grounds experience. Preferred Education Skills and Experience: Associate or bachelor's degree in horticulture, turf management, or related field from an appropriately accredited institution and two to three years of experience in the development and implementation of landscape plans and grounds maintenance; or an equivalent of education and experience.
