What You'll Do: The DC (Distribution Center) maintenance technician is responsible for the facility upkeep, preventive maintenance, and unscheduled repairs of all warehouse equipment to minimize down time and improve operational throughput. Reporting to the DC Managers or Supervisors, this position will work with the DC leadership to address equipment and facility related safety issues and assist in identifying continuous improvement opportunities. Primary Responsibilities: * Maintain a variety of warehouse equipment. * Diagnose and repair malfunctioning production equipment * Replace broken belts, bearings, motors, electrical systems on production equipment as necessary * Calibrate machine counters * Capability for light fabrication upon approval * PMs and minor repair on material handling equipment * Forklift * Bendi * Order Pickers * Reach Trucks * Facilities equipment. * Dock doors and plates. * Floor, wall, and guarding. * Bathroom and breakroom fixtures. * Inventory of wearable parts and supplies needed for preventive maintenance and repairs. * Maintain service records, with cost for all planned and unplanned maintenance and repair services performed. * Work with the safety coordinator to address all equipment and facility related safety concerns. * Participate in continuous improvement activities when applicable. * Work with independent contractors and/or outside maintenance technicians to validate work completed and gain knowledge for future internal use. * Proactively communicate equipment conditions and concerns that may affect the operation. * Possible travel required periodically to other Omni Cable locations to perform work as outlined above. Work Experience What You'll Need * 3-5 years' experience in facilities and/or production maintenance. * Strong mechanical skills. * Experience with performing routine PMs on material handling and support equipment * Experience reading mechanical assembly drawings. * Strong electrical skills, including troubleshooting Industrial Equipment. * Understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems. * Ability to communicate successfully with multiple levels of the company and with external vendors and manufactures. * Basic computer proficiency. * Experience working with PLCs a plus * Welding and metal cutting certification a bonus. * Must be authorized to work in the US, at least 18 years old.
