CITY ENGINEER - DUTIES: Assists City Engineer in the planning, processing and execution of various on-going projects in the department including site review, sub review, street lighting, right-of-way permits, street and alley, and Barrett law sidewalk projects. Reviews, collects input, and attends Site and Subdivision review for new development applications. Provide assistance with field visits/inspections during construction. Maintains and reports on the status of streetlight outages including review of Citizen complaint portal, communication with CenterPoint, and review of CenterPoint work order status report. Reviews application and gathers information for right-of-way permits including field visits. Reviews application and gathers information for vacation requests including field visits. Records vacations on Mylar record and/or the GIS. Collects applications and develops sidewalk projects through Barrett Law process including field visits. Performs other duties as required. QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Preferential consideration will be given to candidates with Project Management Professional completed coursework or certificate. Four (4)+ years of progressive project management experience required. Working knowledge of the processes of municipal approvals and the principles and practices of concrete construction. Basic knowledge of records management and bookkeeping. Must be able to communicate with contractors and the public. Must be able to use Microsoft Office and possess a valid Driver's License.
