Fenner Dunlop is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Production Supervisor to join our dynamic manufacturing team in Toledo, OH. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the production employees and will also play a crucial role in upholding our quality control procedures, guaranteeing that all products meet our high standards. This role reports to the Production Manager.Fenner Dunlop, a Michelin Group company, designs and manufactures the widest range of bulk material handling conveyor belts in the world. We strive to be the premier provider of the safest and most reliable conveyor belting and services to a variety of heavy industrial markets such as coal mining, hard rock mining, sand, gravel, wood handling, power generation, pulp and paper. Fenner Dunlop provides North American made belting, manufactured at our facilities located throughout the United States and Canada. For over 150 years, Fenner Dunlop has researched, designed, developed, manufactured, and tested its conveyor belting products, supporting nearly any type of conveyor application, and providing the right solutions to protect conveyor system investments in the harshest conveying environments.What You'll DoProduction & Maintenance:Monitor and maintain daily production goalsCommunicate production goals to employees daily at the start of their shiftPrepare regular production performance reports, including but not limited to, production status, issues, and performance metricsProduce job travelers and job receiptsMonitor and correct ERP entriesCoordinate shift overlap of production information with other supervisors and production managementEnsure proper and safe functioning of equipment and toolsEnter work orders to maintenance for required repairsTeam Management:Create and nurture a positive and collaborative team cultureEncourage open communication, cooperation, and respect among team membersRecognize and reward individual and team achievementsAddress conflicts and challenges within the team promptly and professionally to maintain a harmonious work environmentCollaborate with the team to identify process inefficiencies and areas for improvementEmpower team members to provide input and implement process enhancementsEncourage team members to share ideas, concerns, and feedbackSeek solutions and foster a positive resolution-oriented approachTraining & Performance Management:Establish performance objectives and expectationsIdentify training needs and opportunities for skill developmentIdentify key areas for cross-training opportunities and assess skill gapsCross-train employees to enhance their skills, versatility, and productivity across various machinesMaintain records of training activities, including attendance, progress, and completionHold employees accountable by providing regular performance feedback and conducting constructive performance reviews and corrective actionsManage employees' hours to minimize overtime and review their hours worked and attendance via computer entryHealth and Safety:Ensure health and safety guidelines are followed and proper PPE usageConduct safety meetings, audits, and participate in the Safety ProgramEnter Hazard ID's and complete assigned action itemsReview and modify Task Safety Analysis and train employees on revisionsMonitor and ensure a clean production floor to prevent hazardsEnsure employees are performing work safely throughout their shiftFoster and promote a daily culture of safetyReport any safety concerns to managementQuality Control & 5S:Train and educate employees on 5S principles and ensure adherenceConduct regular 5S audits and assessments, taking corrective actions as neededPromote a culture of continuous improvement and ownership of 5S principlesMaintain a clean and safe production floorInspect production to meet quality standardsReport non-conforming conditions and issue deviationsRoot Cause/Analyze quality defects and implement countermeasuresCustomer Service:Provide excellent customer service and effective communication with employees and counterparts, ensuring timely responseDemonstrate a passion for customer service, consistently delivering support with a genuine desire to assist othersPossess strong verbal and written communication skills, ensuring a positive and responsive approach in all interactionsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and meet the requirements of various departmentsAdditional Responsibilities:Perform any other task deemed necessary by plant managementWork collaboratively with managers to implement the company's policies and goalsProfessional behavior is required during working hours, while on customer sites, and while traveling for Fenner Dunlop businessWhat You'll NeedBachelor's degree in Business, Management, or related field with 3+ years of manufacturing supervisionAssociate's degree in Business, Management, or related field with 5+ years of manufacturing supervisionFlexibility to work shifts, specifically second shift from 3:00-11:00 PMDemonstrated leadership with effective team management capabilitiesEstablished track record of fostering a positive team attitudeDeep understanding of safety and quality regulationsStrong problem-solving and decision-making skillsExceptional communication and organizational abilitiesAdaptability to thrive in a fast-paced environmentKeen attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high-quality
