Description Role Definition The Field Superintendent, also known as the Millwright Superintendent, will independently run small to medium-sized Industrial projects. They may also manage a larger project with the guidance of a Project Superintendent or Senior Superintendent. This role requires intimate knowledge of the trade work along with a strong attention to detail, including safety, quality, schedule, and budget. The Field Superintendent will manage trade subcontractors and self-perform labor to execute work efficiently. This role profile is subject to change at any time. PROTECT PEOPLE * Conduct a daily inspection of the project site. Complete daily reports of the job site. * Implement safety policies and procedures. * Make safety a number one priority on the job site. * Conduct work following OSHA regulations and Keen safety procedures. Ensure quality control standards are met throughout the project. * Order first aid and other required safety suppliers before the beginning of job site work. * Consider hazardous work when making a subcontract award decision. * Communicate safety goals with owners, clients, subcontractors, and employees. * Present daily toolbox talks and safety meetings, as needed. * Investigate safety incidents and/or violations promptly and contact appropriate personnel about any issues. * Promote Keen's safety culture at all times. Model a strong awareness of safety. BUILD RELATIONSHIPS * Communicate with owners, clients, and customers on job sites. Ensure that their questions are answered. * Guide field employees on the job site. Maintain a harmonious working environment between employees. * Consult with appropriate personnel regarding revisions and changes to the project. * Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, owners, clients, and other personnel by properly representing Keen Project Solutions. * Resolve problems and conflicts when they arise by conducting meetings and using effective communication. FOCUS ON END GOALS * Manage, schedule, and coordinate construction activities for the assigned job site. Maintain a detailed schedule for the project. * Order supplies and materials needed to complete construction and schedule deliveries. * Develop a project mobilization plan. Ensure the plan is safely followed until the completion of the project. * Provide a completed review of the project to Senior Superintendent. * Analyze supplies, employees, and processes needed for each project. Understand the costs associated with each. * Make the best possible judgement for the project when issues arise. * Understand efficient building methods to complete the project promptly and safely. DRIVE INNOVATION * Research and report new methods for completing construction efficiently. Implement these methods when appropriate. * Seek out ways to improve Keen's performance and exceed the customer's expectations. * Provide guidance and training when needed to improve efficiency on the job site. * Encourage creativity among employees. Position Requirements EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS * OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 Hour Construction Safety. * 5-10 years of construction supervisory experience, Bachelor's, Associates, Trade School or vocational degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related construction field is preferred, although not required. * Valid driver's license and ability to pass MVR. * Travel up to 100% or as needed, by air and ground. PHYSICAL DEMANDS * Must be able to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolds, stairs and work in confined spaces and in proximity to loud equipment. * Must be able to position one-self to work in confined spaces such as trenches, pits, manholes, attics and tunnels. * Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move 25/50/80 pounds regularly/occasionally * Must be able to respond quickly to sounds. * Must be able to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces. * Must be able to see and respond to dangerous situations. * Must be able to safely climb ladders while carrying up to 40 pounds. * Must be able to wear personal protective gear most of the day. * Must be able to work in cold/hot environments and on concrete floors. * Must be able to traverse irregular and steep terrain.
