At Spectra, a Diverzify company, our Field Superintendent is responsible for inspecting job sites prior to installation. You will interact with customers in coordinating, managing, and completing their projects, along with any concerns are issues that may arise. While working closely with our customers, sales teams, managers, and installers, you should be able to multitask and wear many hats and supervise the installation from the start of the job and see the job through to completion. Job Description: * Inspect substrates for the acceptability of flooring (i.e moisture testing, alkaline testing...) and be familiar with moisture testing * Inspection of flooring that may presently be installed to determine the compatibility with new flooring * Must be able to determine if the old residue is compatible with new flooring. * Inspect for defects in the substrate of walls which may affect the quality of installation (i.e. base install or flash cove, ceramic etc.) * Check for proper climate control and lights. * Check accessibility of job site, elevator, parking, and loading dock. * Arrange a storage area for materials that are delivered to the job site * Visiting job site before and during installation to head off problems before they arise * Keep in touch with job contacts to address their concerns immediately * Resolve any installation problems that may occur during the length of the job * Advise of safety requirements on each job site * Resolve any differences between installers and job contacts * Inspect defective material on the job site * Communicate job needs to Installation Managers * Teach Installers on Job site (i.e. new products or techniques) * Deliver material/sundries to the job site to expedite completion * Pre-punch right after installation while installers still on site * Post inspects jobs when required * Inspect job deficiencies and determine their legitimacy * Ensure installers have proper up to date plans * Ability to fix items on punch or install materials if needed to close a job Job Requirements: * High school diploma or equivalent * OSHA 10 Training Certification (minimum) OSHA 30 preferred or ability to obtain certification * Demonstrated knowledge of the products in the floor covering industry * Demonstrated ability in mathematics, specifically fractions, measurements, and reading a ruler. * Demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written reports and documentation * Demonstrated ability to visually recognize conformance and nonconformance of flooring products * Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints * Ability to do daily reporting digitally including moisture testing, pre-mob job reporting and daily reporting of assigned projects * Be willing to work nights or weekends if the need arises We are an equal opportunity employer.
