Provides technical expertise with computer network, hardware and software for correct, complete and concise data to support the Health Sciences Center with alumni programming, political advocacy, and philanthropic efforts. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: 1. Associates' degree in Information Technology or related field EXPERIENCE: 1. Three years of desktop PC support or data analytical experience in enterprise computing. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: 1. Microsoft Specialty Certification 2. Cisco Specialty Certification 3. Demonstrated knowledge of computer technology and systems EXPERIENCE: 1. Experience in a healthcare environment CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. Director of Computer Operations for the Department of Alumni Affairs for the WVU Health Sciences Center. 2. Develop policies and procedures within the department for confidentiality of alumni records and data systems security. 3. Develop and update computer systems hardware and software to meet changing needs of strategic planning. 4. Develop data entry policies and procedures to assure completeness and correctness of information. 5. Develop and implement computerized tracking systems and produce tailored templates for alumni retention reporting and outcomes research 6. Develop programs for specialized reports to support alumni program needs, required standard reporting to State and National agencies, and to support grant applications, fundraising proposals and strategies, student and physician recruitment. 7. Provides Systems Management and Support: Assist staff with security clearance and systems training for data entry and management in all HSC Schools and Units. 8. Manager for the SOM Alumni Association's annual budget, membership campaign, and awards program. 9. Develop and maintain a computer network for communication and operation for Health Sciences Alumni Affairs. 10. Responsible for all hardware and software purchases for Alumni Affairs. Determine appropriate compatibility and functionality of equipment, maintain hardware and software inventory. Make budgetary recommendations. 11. Serve as the Alumni CSC (computer support contact) for HSC Academic Technologies. Responsible for installing new hardware and software and train appropriate staff in systems usage and upgrades. Troubleshoot and fix hardware and software problems, diagnose and repair/replace equipment as appropriate. 12. Desktop Publishing and Graphics Design & Compliance: Responsible to see that alumni staff in the HSC produce publications and materials in compliance with the WVU logo and corporate image standards. 13. Create layout and design of printed materials, i.e., ISBN books, magazines, tabloids. 14. Responsible for the accuracy, appropriateness and timeliness of social media information. 15. Produce graphic arts and camera-ready copy for publications and memorabilia. 16. Train HSC alumni staff in desktop publishing through periodic group workshops and one-on-one consultations. 17. Produce copy and photos for social media with coordinated Health Sciences messages. 18. Assist with planning, implementation and evaluation of alumni events. 19. Staff photographer at alumni events. 20. Support philanthropy efforts with prospect identification and cultivation with timely demographic and educational information. Occasional evening, weekend and overnight work in and out of office. SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 1. Excellent time-management and organizational skills. 2. Tech savvy and proficient in Microsoft Office 3. Ability to assess computer hardware and software systems capabilities in order to stay one-step ahead of changing environment. 4. Experience with integrated computing systems, preferably in an academic setting. 5. Possess a working knowledge of software for layout and design, and graphic applications. 6. Possess ability to perform multiple tasks with deadlines. 7. Possess excellent communication skills, written and oral. 8. Must possess common sense, sound judgement, and professional and social protocol. 9. Knowledge of budgeting 10. Ability to be flexible and adjust to unexpected changes in program needs.
