Job Type Full-timeDescriptionReports To: Director of OperationsDepartment: FacilitiesFLSA Status: ExemptPosition Characteristics: 12 month Hours: 8:30 am - 5:00 pmAccountability Objectives:We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining our facilities and equipment to ensure smooth operations.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.Maintenance: Performing routine and emergency repairs on equipment, fixtures, and building systems Inspections: Conducting regular inspections of buildings to ensure safety standards Documentation: Keeping documentation up to date, especially in regulated environments Scheduling: Scheduling major repairs with the building's staff Communication: Information sharing with external specialists and contractors Compliance: Ensuring that all work performed meets required codes and is in accordance with plant policies and procedures Personal protective equipment: Utilizing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Preventive maintenance: Performing ongoing preventive maintenance and repair work on facility mechanical, electrical, and other installed systems General maintenance: Performing general maintenance such as changing light bulbs and maintaining exterior property HVAC: Maintaining, operating all HVAC systems and associated equipment Building automation system: Monitoring the building automation systemRequired Skills & QualificationsA high school diploma or equivalent is usually the minimum education required. Some high schools offer shop or computer classes that can help prepare students for a maintenance career. Two or more years of maintenance experience is often required. Skilled with a variety of hand and power tools. You should also have a basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and other systems. Computer skills to use testing equipment, track data on spreadsheets and be comfortable with Google Mail, Chat, Calendar.A vocational school certificate or license in HVAC or Electrical preferred. Good physical condition, strength and mobility. Able to work in small, darker or basement services spaces. Has strong communication skills, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
