A Lead Maintenance Technician will serve as the technical expert providing guidance and assistance to employees in assigned area engaged in mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and electronic systems and components associated with manufacturing facilities and equipment. Train employees in work instructions, skills, procedures, methods and techniques to correctly and safely perform all job tasks. Performs direct work demonstrating the ability to perform any of the various operations within the department.SUMMARY:THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:Perform all of the Senior Plant Engineering Technician duties and functions as needed.Assist with maintaining the workflow and ensure availability of proper materials and tools. Adjust workflow and assignments to meet manufacturing schedules as required.Guide, communicates with and coordinates work teams in the assigned area.Provide direction to all co-workers when new situations or problems are discovered.Assist manager with analyzing and resolving work problems or assists other technicians in solving problems and implementing corrective actions.Identifies root causes of equipment failures and makes lasting repairs.Coordinate and conduct on-the-job training to assure all employees are properly trained prior to performing work or a job; coordinate cross-training and job rotation schedules with input from the Supervisor or Manager to enhance employee knowledge.Perform assigned TPM tasks and assist in identifying needed TPM tasks and frequency adjustments.Complete work orders, daily manufacturing sheets and ensure other daily reporting and paperwork are completed according to Company procedures.Operate, monitor and respond to HVAC system problems including large chiller operation.Operate and monitor steam boiler systems (must maintain steam boiler operator license).Interface with PLC's to diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions, understand ladder logic, reload and verify programs, operations and interlocks if required.Understands and performs work within the Company Safety Management System (CSMS) policies.Consult with factory equipment representatives to resolve complex, recurring or abnormal issues.Perform high precision mechanical assembly and repair (tolerances Perform MIG welding as required on carbon steel.Perform brazing as required.Handle and properly dispose of trash and waste streams including hazardous wastes.Practice 6S and comply with all safety rules, guidelines and safe working practices.Safely operate material handling and lifting equipment such as overhead cranes, forklifts, pallet jacks, motorized scissor lifts and work platforms.Assist in training of new employees including improving individual skills as well as assisting in the development of training materials.Actively assist in troubleshooting and implementation of corrective actions.Assist other areas as needed.Works with Manufacturing, EHS, and Manufacturing Control to design, fabricate and/or procure tools used for manufacturing.Support and assist the Plant Engineering and Maintenance Manager as needed.Understand and work under the direction of the appropriate Hyosung HICO policy and/or procedure.Know Hyosung HICO's Quality and Environmental Policies. Perform other duties as assigned.REQUIREMENTS : EDUCATION/SPECIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:Associates' degree in technical field or post high school vocational/trade school certification in multi-craft maintenance plus ten (10) years' multi-craft maintenance work experience in an automated manufacturing environment, or equivalent education and experience.Previous experience in maintenance leadership role. (3+ years preferred)Maintenance on production and facilities equipment including mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and electronic systems and components.Advanced skills with manuals, prints, wiring diagrams, schematics and other technical documents.Intermediate level understanding of PLC (Allen Bradley desired) for maintenance troubleshooting and diagnostics, including understanding of ladder logic, servo drive and HMI interfaces and ability to load and verify safety and functionality of programs.Developed interpersonal skills and the ability to lead a wide variety of people are required.Advanced skills / understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs, moving body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping and handling of materials.Ability to coordinate work flow of all level technicians, trained and proficient in all areas of facility maintenance, PC skills, CMMS program experience as well as facility control systems experience.Advanced knowledge of manufacturing policies, procedures and practices applicable to power transformer operationsExperience developing and maintaining CMMS systems, work order creation and completion.Advanced knowledge and experience with 3 phase 460/480 volt power.PHYSICAL/MENTAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE POSITION AND ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS OF THE WORKPLACE:Ability to safely and correctly use hand and power tools and measurement devices.Ability to work at elevated heights and climb stairs.Ability to inspect work.Ability to read, write, and follow instructions.Ability to judge the quality of work produced compared to established standards, drawings, and instructions.Ability to operate powered equipment, such as fork truck and overhead crane.Ability to work in normal indoor temperatures.Stand and walk minimum 6-8 hours per day.Ability to sit, squat, bend, stretch, twist, crawl, kneel, and reach above the shoulders as required to perform essential job functions.Ability to work in restricted spaces.Ability to climb and work up to 20 feet off the ground for extended periods of time.Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.Ability to perform repetitive movement.Ability to use all applicable PPE including but not limited to hard hat, safety toe shoes, safety glasses, and gloves.Hyosung HICO, Ltd., is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Employer .It has been and will continue to be a fundamental policy of Hyosung HICO, Ltd., not to discriminate on the basis of race, color, creed, religion, gender, gender identity, pregnancy, marital status, partnership status, domestic violence victim status, sexual orientation, age, national origin, alienage or citizenship status, veteran or military status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, caregiver status, unemployment status or any other characteristic prohibited by federal, state and/or local laws.
