Job Summary: Position is responsible for data entry into a computerized maintenance management system for the Production and Maintenance departments. Data includes equipment names, part numbers, vendors as well as status of production lines, production schedules and labor and materials shortages. Monitors supplies and prepares purchase orders for approval and processing. Review orders for potential cost savings and recommend changes to pricing or ordering. Review all supply orders, including parts and equipment for accuracy. Advise management of any discrepancies. Generates and disseminates reports as needed or requested. Key Responsibilities: * Tracks and maintains data related to equipment maintenance (parts, vendors, material information, etc.), production rates and data, material information and customer data so status reports can be completed. Maintain time and work orders and distribute production or maintenance paperwork. * Communicate production and maintenance schedule changes, labor or material shortages, backlogs, or other interruptions. Monitor time clock reports and make recommendations for required personnel and deviations of labor. * Tracks all required training for new and existing production workers. Advise management of training classes needing completion for BMP's BRC and company policies and procedures. * Generate periodic reports and plans work from the computerized maintenance management system (CMSS). * Coordinate the research, analysis and interpretation of data to assist with improving maintenance and production activities and operations. * Participate in weekly plant inspections and audits. Investigate and assist supervision with issuing corrective actions for food safety, quality or process deviation as outlined in plant processes and policies. Document results of audits and inspections. * Assist with scheduling outside contractors for annual inspections, calibrations, verifications as needed to keep equipment in compliance with programs or regulating agencies. Collaborates with Production personnel as needed. * Adheres to corporate safety and quality standards and procedures related to Good Manufacturing Processes (GMP), Federal Drug Administration (FDA), OSHA, American Baking Institute and British Retail Consortium (BRC). Documents any variations for management. * Reviews production billings with vendors to ensure accuracy. * Performs other maintenance tasks as assigned and assists maintenance workers as needed. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * High School diploma or equivalent. * Knowledge of maintenance engineering techniques, tool cribs, maintenance inventory, engineering components (i.e.: filters, sprockets, etc.). * Minimum of six months experience in a production environment with knowledge of machines and tools, repair and maintenance, production schedules, materials and quality control. * Evidence of ability to analyze and identify problems, review related information and develop options to solve problems. * Working knowledge of GMP, HACCP principles and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requirements and standards and the ability to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance and procedure manuals. * Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate technical information to a variety of audiences. * Demonstrated computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, database and Internet) with advanced skills in Excel. * Evidence of effective communication skills and the ability to provide direction to lesser experienced line workers. Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: * Solid mathematical skills, including standard multiplication, measurement units, fractions, decimals and the ability to compute ratios and percentages. * Previous experience with evaluating quality control. Working Conditions: * Position may require continuous standing, lifting, bending and moving of heavy weight (over 50 pounds) material in difficult work positions. * Must be able to work with a flexible schedule including overtime and weekend shift coverage.
