Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions or duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment to the position. 1.Operate a variety of equipment and machines including drill, saw, grinder, sander, painting equipment and other hand and power tools. 2..Must be willing to obtain Scissor Lift training certification. 3..Basic knowledge of other trades, such as plumbing, carpentry and HVAC to assist in all building projects. 4..Must successfully undergo fingerprint based National Criminal Record Investigations (CHRI) check. 5..Must be able to communicate well with staff, school community and town residents. 6.Must be focused on maintaining a positive Facilities team environment. 7.Must be able to work alone and safely use ladders, lifts and enter crawl spaces as needed. 8.Must be able to read prints and follow verbal and written instruction. 9..Must be able to lift over 50lbs on a regular basis as part of the job duties includes lifting heavy objects. 10.Must be able to work alternate evening schedule 2:30pm - 11:00pm for special projects as needed. 11.Snow plowing and other weather event clean-ups at the schools. 12.Other duties as assigned. Supervision Exercised Applicant will perform assigned tasks without close supervision, and is given direct and detailed instructions on new and different assignments. Applicant will be asked to meet and or oversee the work of contractors performing maintenance tasks, such as electricians, plumbers, mechanics or roofers. Recommended Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience: High School diploma; three to five years' experience in facility maintenance work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
