Ohio Wesleyan University is a selective, private, undergraduate liberal art, residential institution founded in 1842 and located just 20 miles north of Columbus OH, is seeking candidates for two positions: A licensed Plumber and a General Maintenance Technician with a plumbing focus. About you: You are a licensed plumber or a seasoned maintenance technician who has a passion for building relationships and helping people. You might already have specific experience working in construction or have served in roles in the building trades. You are looking forward to working in a friendly and fast paced role on a college campus, comfortable applying your earned knowledge and skill servicing both residential and commercial facilities. About us: Campus Buildings and Grounds are a dedicated group of trades and general maintenance technicians, dedicated to Ohio Wesleyan University students and the campus we collectively serve. This position has a unique opportunity to work collaboratively with many groups on campus and to be a part of a team that focuses on growing skills and developing employees. Job Summary: Working under general supervision, the incumbent will apply knowledge and skill at the journey level to install and repair piping, fixtures, appliances, laboratory equipment, and apparatus related to gas, air, steam, water, drainage systems, and heating and cooling systems. Complete routine and emergency work orders. Performs preventive maintenance, as assigned. Factors contributing success: * At least five years plumbing experience in both commercial and residential construction, as well as a Plumbing Commercial Contractor's license granted by the State of Ohio * Valid driver's license and ability to meet OWU Driving Policy. * a backflow tester license granted by the State of Ohio.Experience performing preventative and predictive maintenance of building systems equipment * Ability to use equipment and tools effectively to perform essential job functions, demonstrate basic computer skills in order to communicate in writing as well as procure parts and interact with the computerized maintenance management system. * Ability to work with and around a diverse culture Completed application packets will include: 1) Cover Letter with salary requirements 2) Resume or Curriculum Vitae WHAT WE OFFER: Ohio Wesleyan University offers a rewarding place to work!
