OMG Roofing Products is a leading global manufacturer and supplier of value-added components for the commercial roofing industry. The FastenMaster Division manufactures and markets innovative, premium quality wood-to-wood fasteners that are engineered to enable professional contractors to complete building projects safer, faster, and easier. The Production Supervisor effectively directs the day-to-day activities to meet production, quality, safety, and continuous improvement goals. This key position demands strong problem solving and communication skills, and the ability to drive a team to meet performance targets. This position requires a strong understanding of production manufacturing and lean processes and will lead by example.Position ResponsibilitiesPromote Safety as the Number One priority of all OMG employees.Drive Continuous Improvement (CI) and Lean Manufacturing, providing direction and support to CI Teams to exceed goals. Review production requirements and adjust work schedules to meet objectives.Develop new, and track existing, cost savings and productivity improvement initiatives.Effectively manage shift workers, including hiring, training, employee development, performance reviews, addressing disciplinary issues and resolving employee problems.Develop the bench strength for our manufacturing teams. Communicate and implement company initiatives and policy.Inspect products to verify conformance to specifications and work with Quality resources to address variations.Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.Develop metrics to improve daily and weekly efficiency, tracking performance through trending analyses.Conduct weekly team meetings to promote improvement opportunities. Perform other tasks as assigned.Position RequirementsHigh School Diploma or equivalent (bachelor's degree preferred).5+ years' management or supervisory experience.Manufacturing experience required. Experience implementing lean manufacturing processes.Strong communication, organizational, analytical, and mathematical skills.Self-starter with desire and willingness to institute change. Capable of overcoming obstacles and completing assignments in a timely manner.Ability to motivate individuals and teams to perform at high levels to meet and exceed goals.Team-oriented approach with a desire to work in a hands-on leadership capacity.Positive attitude, good judgment, and excellent time management skills.Ability to effectively document performance and activities of Finishing functions.Strong sense of responsibility and ownership plus a desire and willingness to institute change when needed.Strong aptitude for understanding and troubleshooting mechanical processes.PC skills including experience with MS Office Suite. Positive can-do attitude.Physical RequirementsAbility to work in high noise areas and wear appropriate hearing protection devices.The position requires the ability to regularly stand.Ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance; and occasionally lift/push/pull/carry up to 25 pounds.
