Job Description The Operating Technician - Hybrid Mechanical is a core component for our workforce as one of the world's largest steel producers. The Operating Technician - Hybrid Mechanical operates equipment and performs maintenance tasks that support the various production units. As an Operating Technician - Hybrid Mechanical you will perform the primary responsibilities and requirements listed below: -Installs, maintains and repairs a broad range of mechanical systems and equipment.. Must be able to troubleshoot equipment. Operates equipment in conjunction with repairs and provides assistance in operating functions as necessary to maintain continuous operations. May work alone with minimal supervision or other maintenance technicians. Requirements:High School Diploma or GED Must pass assessment test(s)Minimum of 1 year of working experience or formal education in the following areas: print reading and troubleshooting.The position requires you to work rotating shifts, which will include Saturdays and Sundays. The position also requires you to work overtime as needed. Adherence to safety procedures/guidelines at all times. Safety is our core value which requires you to wear safety protection such as hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, protective clothing, and boots with metatarsal protection. The position requires punctuality, consistent attendance and self direction for the success of the operations.Work Environment: The job is within an industrial environment and you may be required to work within various areas. Dependent upon the area you will work in, the environmental conditions can be hot, cold, dirty, greasy, wet, and noisy. Additionally, safety is a core value and safety procedures/guidelines must be adhered to at all times. This includes, but is not limited to, wearing safety apparel such as hard hat, goggles, hearing protection, and protective clothing and work boots with metatarsal protection. Punctuality and attendance are extremely important to the success of the operations in general as well as contributing to an overall positive team atmosphere.
