Responsibilities Cedar Hills Hospital currently has an opening for a RN in our dynamic mental health facility, who will provide safe and effective nursing care in their assigned work area(s) in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Cedar Hills Hospital and within the framework of established policies and procedures of the Nursing Department. FT Day 3-12 hour shifts. The RN collaborates with physicians, licensed independent practitioners, and multidisciplinary team members to promote and restore patients' health by assessing patients, planning for their care, and providing physical and psychological treatment. We are seeking Registered Nurses with an interest or background in behavioral health to join our team and to support our patients in one of our specialty care programs: Inpatient: Crisis Stabilization Mental Health Substance Abuse The Military Program Co-Occurring Disorders The Women's Program Who We Are: Cedar Hills Hospital is a 98-bed, freestanding psychiatric hospital and outpatient center specializing in mental health and substance use disorder treatment. Qualifications Position Requirements * Education: Associates degree in a school or nursing; Bachelors of Nursing preferred. * Experience: New grads welcome! One or more year's psychiatric nursing experience is a plus but it not required; we provide 6 weeks of intensive psych-specific training. * Licensure: Currently has an unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse through the Oregon State Board of Nursing. Must be able to demonstrate core nursing knowledge/competencies including, but not limited to medication administration and principles of adult education; ability to read, comprehend, and execute policies, procedures, treatment plans, and clinical standards found in nursing practice literature; ability to provide succinct and effective oral and written communications to co-workers and patients; able to make sound, independent judgments based on scientific and/or ethical principles; and knowledge of behavior management strategies required to provide care for persons with psychiatric and/or substance use disorders. Must demonstrate basic computer literacy. May be asked to work occasional overtime and flexible hours.
