Ultium Cells Overview:Ultium Cells is a joint venture lithium-Ion automotive battery cell manufacturing plant between LG Energy Solutions and General Motors. This new construction high-technology plant will have the latest battery cell manufacturing technology. The investment in this new business venture represents a commitment of more than $2.3 Billion. It will be among the largest battery cell manufacturing plants in the world. Ultium Cells will produce battery cells for General Motors North American electric vehicle applications.The Ultium cell partners include LG Energy Solutions; the world's largest manufacturer of automotive battery cells in the world and General Motors a global company committed to delivering safer, better and more sustainable ways for people to get around.Position Description:A Production Supervisor ensures production and quality goals are achieved through teamwork and clear communication. Train and develop Operators for success in the team's goals and for future opportunities. Create a positive and highly effective working environment based on mutual respect and a shared goal of being the number one supplier to our customers. Evaluate and update the production schedule, overseeing quality control and ensuring products are produced on time, and projects completed within the deadline. Using Safety and Environment, People, Quality, Responsiveness, and cost to accomplish essential job duties.Job Responsibilities:Ensure compliance for plant safety and environmental regulationsBe a deep-skilled operator/subject matter expert of assigned equipmentEnsure equipment is properly maintained to meet high equipment efficiency targetsSupport Team Members and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the production or processing of goodsRead and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs Collaborate with other leaders to coordinate operations and activities within or between departmentsPlan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goalsSupport and train team to Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctionsSupport employee training through demonstrating equipment operations, safety procedures and quality expectationsSupport and facilitate team-based problem solvingObserve key performance indicators of work area; monitor gauges, dials, and equipment performance other indicators to ensure that operators conform to production or processing standardsConfer with leadership and team to resolve work force concerns and to employee engagementInterpret specifications, part and assembly drawings, job orders, and company policies and procedures for workersAdditional duties as assignedQualifications and Competencies:Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing or a related field (preferred) OR equivalent combination of education and experience preferredProven experience in a manufacturing supervisory role, with a strong understanding of complex production processes and techniques; experience in lithium-ion battery manufacturing a plusKnowledge of safety regulations and procedures, with a commitment to creating and maintaining a safe working environmentAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously Proficiency in MS Office applications and manufacturing software systemsAbility to work in a collaborative, multicultural, team environmentStrong organizational and leadership abilitiesSelf-motivated with a results-driven approachStrong understanding of quality processesEffective oral and written communication skillsProven problem-solving skillsMust be able to speak, read and write EnglishAbility to work in a collaborative team environmentTotal Rewards Information:We offer market-competitive compensation including base pay and incentive compensation opportunities based on the achievement of Company goals.
