About The Role As a Field Engineer under the Field Engineering Team at Seegrid, you will apply your skills to support AMR customer installations and demonstrations, triage field issues, and identify areas of improvement for our current suite of products. You will help scope product applications, evaluate application performance, and support the installation either onsite or remotely depending on the application needs. Field Engineers are the experts of the full suite of Seegrid products and responsible for ensuring continued education, training, and documentation as new products get released. Your experiences will enable you to develop new tools and procedures for quickly identifying and resolving problems in situ. You will know the AMRs as if they were your own children. The Field Engineer role is a non-remote position Seegrid HQ in Pittsburgh, PA that may require up to 20% travel. The successful completion of your first year, looks like: * You have a strong understanding of the products Seegrid offers and can advise on the best ways a customer can utilize them. * You will have ownership of the Field Engineering support of a customer application from scoping to implementation. * You will collaborate regularly with engineering core teams, product teams, and customer support teams at Seegrid to provide the highest levels of service for our customers * You are able to triage field service tickets, and to perform analysis necessary to take them to completion. Responsibilities Include: * Scoping, replication and testing of new customer applications * Assisting with installations of customer applications * Developing and performing product demonstrations both internally and at industry events * Developing version controlled custom configurations for customer installations * Maintaining training documentation for Seegrid products, and developing new training tools and procedures as required * Triaging service tickets that escalate to engineering * Identifying improvements to products and tracking issues seen in the field * Traveling to customer sites for data collection and issue investigations Required Qualifications: * BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or related degree * 2 or more years experience in a related technical field * Experience with robotics and automation systems * Experience working with Linux * Team player with strong interpersonal skills * Excellent written and verbal communication skills Desirable Qualifications: * Experience working with related sensor systems to include 2D/3D LiDAR, monocular and stereo cameras, etc. * Experience using containers (e.g., Docker) * Programming experience (C++, Python) * Experience with ROS or ROS2 * Familiarity with software version control systems (e.g., Git) and other software engineering best practices (e.g., unit testing, continuous integration, etc.) Seegrid has been recognized nationally as a Best-Place-to-Work.
