This will be Monday - Friday, and you should expect to work on some weekends depending on the workload. LOCATION: Monrovia and Montebello, CA. COMPENSATION: $28- $32/hr. depending on experience. This is a Non-exempt position. A company vehicle may be provided. POSITION SUMMARY: As an Arborist, you will be responsible for inspecting trees, flagging hazardous trees, and providing subject matter expert recommendations on tree management. Certified Arborists are ISA Certified (or similar); non-certified arborists should be able to attain certification within one year of employment. The ideal candidate will have experience in utility forestry and conducting tree inspections, and a vast understanding of the risks associated with vegetation management in the context of the power grid. What you will be responsible for: (Disclaimer: The lists below are not all inclusive) * Ensure SAFETY protocols are always followed. * Perform tree inspections and documents inventory appropriately. * Identify, flag, communicate all hazardous trees. * Notifies property owners of tree work to be performed. * Updates grid coversheets when inspection has been completed. * Provide customers with education on tree removal/tree hazards. * Works closely with client * Works closely with internal leaders * Manage and coordinate daily vegetation operations. * Submit details and information to vegetation management leaders. * Perform all other applicable duties to meet project deadlines and goals. QUALIFICATIONS: You must meet the following: (Minimum) * Must be 21 years of age or older. * Authorized to work in the US. * 2 years of experience within the vegetation management industry * Ability to work independently, strong verbal and written communication skills. * Strong time management skills * Accountability: accepts personal responsibility for quality and timeliness of produced work * Professionalism: always maintains professional candor * Flexibility: Capable of multi-tasking, and adapting to changing conditions surrounding work requirements and responsibilities * Dependability: Can be relied on to complete the required work * Communication: Must possess effective communication skills * Proficient with GIS Application experience (i.e., Arc Collector, Fulcrum) * Excellent communication both verbal and written with attention to detail. * Must be proficient in using technology including cell phone, tablet, apps, GPS, Microsoft Office Suite, and range finders. * SURVEY123 or Arbora experience * Willingness to travel (this position requires constant driving/walking) * Ability to read and follow ARCGIS mapping. * Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. * Ability to work and hike in rugged terrain and in inclement weather. * Ability to work long hours and on your feet for 50+ hours a week. * Ability to respond to public concerns and questions about work. * Ability to respond and answer client's questions and concerns about work specifications and requirements. * Pro-Actively promote Safety & Maintain a Safe Work Environment If you have the following it would be a big plus: (Preferred) * 2 years of Vegetation Management experience We are committed to providing a diversified workforce to our clients: Paxon Energy & Infrastructure is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
