We work together to enhance peoples' lives through our products and presence in the communities in which we operate.JOB SUMMARYThe 3rd Shift Production Supervisor works in a manufacturing environment leading, training and coaching personnel in all production related activities. This person assures activities are maintained in accordance with all Safety policies and procedures. Scope of functions include PVC Sheet Extrusion Lines, Material Compounding, Grinding and Assembly operations. The responsibility of ensuring production schedules and standards meet expectation is inherent to this position. This person communicates with other company supervisors and managers.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSComply with Westlake Safety Policies and ProceduresOversee a cross functional team with varied production functionsDesignate staff across work areas while adhering to Westlake policesArrange to assure shift coverage (e.g., when employees take time off)Help to resolve on the job challengesTrack/record daily production metricsManage physical inventory counts of packaging and suppliesOpen or Close facility during stop/start eventsCommunicate with prior and next Shift SupervisorsEvaluate and communicate maintenance needs to maintain operationsAssist site management in completion of incident reports and investigationsConduct shift trainings on Westlake safety policies and proceduresBe a liaison for new hire/visitor safety orientationReport attendance and vacation requests to maintain accurate payrollTrain and certify mobile equipment operatorsEvaluate demonstrated job performanceConduct gemba walks and address findings with site managementPerform other duties as assigned or neededRegular attendance, timeliness, and scheduling flexibility Analyze root cause of near miss incidentsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Strong professional communication skills, both oral and in writingAbility to lead a multifunctional teamIntermediate level in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPointStrong organizational skills, detailed oriented, self-motivated, and ability to multi-taskFamiliarity with safety programsBi-lingual English/Spanish, preferredMust be able to work a 3rd Shift: 7pm-7am 2/2/3 rotationMust be able to commute to our Westfield, MA plant dailyEDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCEThe employee should have the following:High School Diploma or equivalent3 - 5 years' experience in a relevant field1 - 2 years of Supervisory experienceESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENTThe employee should possess the ability to:Prolonged standing or in stationary positionComplete repetitive movements such as typingBe exposed to sounds or noise levels that may require hearing protectionWear all required personal protective equipment (footwear, hearing, vision, and hardhat protection)Ability to lift/move/transport items up to 50 poundsAbility to move or traverse about the facilitiesMust be able to ascend/descend stairs or laddersAbility to work around dust, chemicals, and other substances, and in various environmental conditionsThis is not necessarily an all-inclusive list of job-related responsibilities, duties, skills, efforts, requirements or working conditions.
