Misericordia University is hiring Maintenance Mechanics to perform a wide variety of general maintenance and preventative maintenance around the campus. The positions will perform a variety of assignments to assist in the maintenance and operation of the various infrastructure systems within the University to ensure a suitable living, learning, and working environment in all University facilities. The Maintenance Mechanics will maintain, service, and conduct minor repairs on buildings and equipment while performing a variety of semi-skilled duties in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, electrical, painting, and plastering. In addition, some Maintenance Mechanics (experience dependent) will perform generator testing, replacing filters and belts, inspecting operational pumps, elevators, emergency lighting and exit signs, and assist with water treatment of boiler and closed loop systems. All Maintenance Mechanics assure the compliance of work with applicable codes, health, and safety regulations. EducationAssociate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school. ExperienceFive years of recent (within the last fifteen years) multiple trades experience that includes locks, electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry, drywall, and other minor construction and repair skills in an educational or institutional environment. Completion of an approved apprenticeship program in multiple trades in electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry, drywall, and other minor construction and repair skills is preferred. Licenses/Certifications• A current and valid PA driver's license. (Equivalent combinations of education, licenses, certifications and/or experience may be considered.)
