FLSA Status: Non -Exempt Prepared By: Human Resources Summary: Champion Home Builders is a leader in off-site construction, offering customers solutions from single-family homes to large-scale commercial buildings - all built in a controlled factory setting and then assembled onsite. Champion is seeking an experienced and reliable construction professional to join the team at The Champion Construction Service division (CCS). THIS IS A REMOTE ROLE but must be local to the northeastern U.S. The Permit Technician will be responsible for processing and obtaining certain permits required by the local Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) that are required as part of our scope of work. This position will report directly to the Construction Admin Supervisor. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The key responsibilities of this position are outlined below. Other duties may be assigned. * Communicate with local Government agencies, building and zoning departments * Ability to learn all nomenclature related to obtaining permits * Assemble documents required for permit applications including plat plans, pier plans, floor plans, and elevations * You may have to utilize third-party consultants to produce some site drawings for the permit application * File applications in a timely manner, while understanding the time sensitivity and completeness of the permit applications * Communicate with all members of the CCS team via email, text, teleconference, & email * Communicate with CCS clients updating them on a regular basis. * Must have comprehensive computer skills and abilities Qualifications: * Ability to properly manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. * Clear verbal and written communication skills to demonstrate and convey a thorough understanding of the entire development process. * Must possess a strong knowledge of Word, and Excel, and be able to develop accurate correspondence, schedules, and other reporting as required. * Verbal and written communication skills to audiences both inside and outside the company. * Strong leadership and follow-up skills, with a "hands-on" approach to completing all projects in a timely and efficient manner. * Prior permitting experience is a must.
