Naumann/Hobbs is looking for YOU to fill our Shop Service Technician position in the Phoenix, AZ area.We are the largest Material Handling Equipment Company in the Southwest. We are a staple in the Valley with almost 70 years of business experience and over 100 million in annual sales.This position is designated as safety sensitive. The Shop Technician will be responsible for regularly repairs, recharges, cleans, and prepares for shipment motive power batteries by performing the following duties. Occasionally drives a truck, to transport materials to and from specified destinations, by performing the following duties. What you will do:Shop Technician - 1 Year Experience Follows all company policies and procedures as listed, but not limited to warranty, safety, environmental, OSHA, DOT, and Hazmat.Removes and disassembles cells and inspects parts to detect defects.Replaces defective parts, reassembles battery, and fuses lead parts with gas torch.Fills cells with acid solution and determines specific gravity of solution.Adds acid or water to obtain specified concentration.Attaches charger leads to battery posts or connector and starts charger.Reads meters and adjusts charge parameters to control time and flow of current through battery.Ability to perform discharge tests, evaluates results, and makes necessary repairs.Washes, cleans, and neutralizes customer's batteries in the service center.Repairs battery charging equipment.Prepares new product for shipment.Properly unloads, stores, palletizes, and loads new, used, customer repair, and scrap batteries and chargers.Maintains records of performance reports.Operates material handling equipment per OSHA requirements.Maintains a safe, orderly, and clean working environment.Prepares receipts for load picked up.Maintains telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive pickup and delivery instructions.Loads and unloads truck.Positions blocks and secures cargo during transit according to state and federal DOT regulations.Assists with Parts and Service duties as needed.Additional duties as required by manager.Competencies Skills and Abilities: Shop TechnicianCooperation - Job requires being pleasant with others on the job and displaying a good-natured, cooperative attitude.Adaptability/Flexibility - Job requires being open to change (positive or negative) and toconsiderable variety in the workplace.Self-Control - Job requires maintaining composure, keeping emotions in check,controlling anger, and avoiding aggressive behavior, even in very difficult situationsInitiative - Job requires a willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges.Must possess excellent interpersonal skills.Must provide excellent written skills.Attention to Detail - Job requires being careful about detail and thorough in completingwork tasks.Education and Experience:Basic mechanical abilitiesForklift Operator Training CertificatePC skills requiredMust have a valid Driver LicensePhysical Demands:Physical Demands & Work EnvironmentThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
