Position Overview: Thrive Foods, a rapidly growing freeze-dried manufacturing company, is seeking an experienced First Shift Production Supervisor to lead our production operations at the Oak Creek, WI facility. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a seamless and efficient manufacturing process by overseeing employee performance and optimizing workflows. In this fast-paced environment, your leadership will be vital to maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and productivity. You will collaborate closely with the Plant Manager and Floor Supervisor to manage daily operations and enhance the effectiveness of the production department. Shift Information: "B" Shift: Thursday, Friday, Saturday and every other Wednesday 6am-6pm. Key Responsibilities: Production Floor Management: * Supervise production team members to ensure safe, efficient processing of products while adhering to production output, health and safety, HACCP, GMP, sanitation, and quality standards. * Understand the freeze-drying process and its implications for product handling and processing. * Operate production and packaging equipment as needed. * Oversee the completion of production documentation across departments. * Manage workforce scheduling and shift assignments in line with operational needs. * Recommend and implement process or equipment improvements to enhance quality and efficiency. * Minimize rework and product damage due to handling and processing. * Delegate tasks, troubleshoot operational issues, and take corrective actions as necessary. * Ensure accurate and timely production reporting, including weights and lot tracing. * Collaborate with other departments to maximize product quality and overall plant efficiency. * Actively participate in the production process as required. * Provide training to employees on specific tasks to reduce workplace injury risks. * Ensure the safe operation of machinery and compliance with established safety practices. * Enforce high standards of sanitation and product handling. * Perform other tasks as assigned by the Plant Manager. Employee Engagement: * Assist with the orientation of new hires. * Maintain open communication with team members to foster a positive work environment. * Provide coaching and training to enhance employee performance. * Lead by example in professionalism, hygiene, and workspace organization. * Navigate and address challenging conversations with employees effectively. Administrative Duties: * Organize and manage weekly/monthly employee schedules. * Lead daily huddles and monthly departmental meetings. * Track daily attendance and manage payroll processes. * Utilize Microsoft Office Suite for various administrative tasks. * Conduct employee reviews, one-on-ones, and handle disciplinary actions as necessary. * Input production reports into the inventory database (Microsoft Dynamics NAV) daily. Qualifications: Education: * High School Diploma required; a degree in a technical, engineering, or relevant field is preferred. Work Experience: * 2-3 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in food manufacturing. * Prior supervisory experience is essential. Technical Skills: * Knowledge of HACCP and GMP principles. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. * Mechanical aptitude is a plus. Personal Skills: * Strong organizational and leadership skills with a results-oriented mindset. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Self-motivated problem solver with the ability to prioritize and adapt to changing conditions. * Capable of delegating tasks and motivating team members. * Team player with project planning and execution capabilities. * Ability to maintain accurate records and prepare clear documentation. Work Environment: * Manage multiple departments in a plant setting that may involve loud noise and varying temperatures, along with office responsibilities.
