Position Type: Maintenance & Operations Department/Technician Date Posted: 3/22/2024 Location: Maintenance & Operations Department Date Available: 03/22/2024 Additional Information: Show/Hide REPORTS TO: Plumber Foreman APPLICATION DEADLINE: Open Until Filled LENGTH OF WORK YEAR: 261 Days DATE REVISED: MAR 06, 2018 WAGE/HOUR STATUS: Non-Exempt SALARY RANGE: $16.99 Minimum $24.21 Maximum PAY GRADE: AU4 PRIMARY PURPOSE: The Irrigation Technician is responsible for the operation and maintenance of all irrigation systems as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: High School Graduate or GED required Irrigation license preferred 3 years of irrigation related experience preferred Able to read blueprints and schematics Auto-Cad experience preferred Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and be insurable MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: * Maintain all irrigation systems in good working condition. * Designing and installation of new irrigation systems. * Major and minor modifications of irrigation systems during new building construction or remodeling. * Performs services needed for irrigation such as repairing water leaks, repairing or replacing pipes, pumps, and any related irrigation components. * Ensures proper irrigation controls are in place. * Manages water conservation. * Maintain electronic files (design and as-built). * Manage irrigation controls, programming and scheduling. * Manage web based scheduling. * Performs irrigation duties as assigned by supervisor. * Support of plumbing department as required by Plumber foreman. * Performs all duties in a safe manner to avoid injury to oneself and/or to others. * Performs other related duties as assigned. EQUIPMENT USED: * District vehicle, two-way radio, backhoe, trenching machine, rooter rotor, electric hand tools, and soldering torch WORKING CONDITIONS: Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environment Factors: * Frequent district travel, strenuous bending, climbing, and walking, working in extreme weather conditions, working on slippery uneven surfaces, and exposure to toxic fumes and chemicals.
