A Day in Your Life at MKS: MKS Instruments, ESI is looking for a self-motivated Field Service Engineer who has experience working with Electronics & Packaging Machines and/or Ultra-Fast laser systems, who can work independently in a fast-paced environment supporting scientific and industrial accounts for ESB and Spectra-Physics products. We are an industry-leading global supplier of advanced laser solutions to the microelectronics, solar, semiconductor, industrial manufacturing, scientific research, and life and health sciences markets. Our product portfolio includes a wide range of ultrafast, Q-switched DPSS, CW and Quasi-CW, high-energy pulsed, tunable, gas, and fiber-based lasers. In addition to supporting our Electronics & Packaging laser based systems. You Will Make an Impact By: This position is based in your home office in the North East supporting our customers in the North East regions. This position will require travel between 50% and 80% of the time. This typically involves travel to a customer site during a normal business week, performing an installation or service. Travel varies depending on region. Key Responsibilities: * Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair Electronics & Packaging Machines, and Ultra-Fast laser systems. * Provide technical support to customers, sales and application teams and participate in customer meetings * Answer technical questions from our customers regarding system repairs and applications * Stay current with the latest upgrades and training of new products and software * Maintain historical performance and repair information * Log and create field service reports Skills You Bring: * Minimum B.S in Photonics or related fields with 3-5 years relevant experience * Experience with diode pump amplifier systems is a must * Opto-mechanical, Mechanical and automated manufacturing systems experience a plus * Excellent troubleshooting skills with new electrical, mechanical and laser systems * Excellent communication skills a must * High degree of proficiency of PC skills including MS Office, SAP, and data analysis applications Physical Demands: * Perform activities such as sitting, standing, or typing for extended periods of time * Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. * Regularly requires good manual dexterity and coordination Compensation and Benefits: Salary Pay Range: $66,600.00 - $123,800.00 per year. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law. Bonus: This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, in an amount to be determined by MKS [or as applicable].
