Job Title: Maintenance TechnicianLocation: Lifestyle Apartments at SyracuseJob Type: Full Time, On-siteSchedule: Monday-Friday 8a-5p; some weekends/on-call shiftsCompany Website: and BenefitsBase Salary: $20-$30 an hour commensurate with experienceHealth Insurance after 60 days of employmentPTO and Holiday PayPosition Summary:The Maintenance Technician's primary duty is to perform repairs and conduct preventative maintenance throughout the apartment communityCore Responsibilities: Included but not limited to:Responds to all assigned maintenance work orders during the regular day, giving priority to any emergencyResolves all maintenance problems that arise during the workdayReports any repair problems that cannot be fixed during the workday to the Property Manager and/or Maintenance SupervisorCompletes regularly scheduled maintenance activities as assigned by the Property Manager or Maintenance Supervisor.Performs general clean-up of the apartment community on an "overload"Reports all acts of vandalism, destruction of property, and suspicious persons observed within the community to the Property Manager or other designated leaderAssists Maintenance Supervisor in maintaining all electrical, plumbing, appliances, and mechanicalKeeps shop and storage areas in neat and well-organizedCompletes apartment turns as needed Completes grounds work as directed by Property Manager or Maintenance Supervisor which may include picking up trash, sweeping curb and dumpster areas, and maintaining landscaping bedsAssists in monitoring all work being performed by outside contractorsMaintains a professional courteous manner with all residents, vendors, contractors and fellowAssures safety standards are used which comply with all company, local, City, State, and FederalEnsures compliance of all work-related activities in a fair, ethical, and consistentSkill RequirementsExperience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Maintenance Tech or in a related roleEducation: High School Diploma or equivalent and relevant certificationsAvailability: Must be available for on-call emergencies, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.Possesses own set of basic hand toolsMust have own vehicleAbility to identify problems, troubleshoot, diagnose, repair and replace as needed, to maintain all onsite systems in working orderLifting and carrying objects (typically up to 25-50 lbs.)Must be able to walk property and up/downstairsPerforming tasks that may require bending, stooping, or reaching, such as checking under desks or inspecting areas that are difficult to access
