We offer medical detox as well as residential addictions treatment for active duty and retired military service members in our North Stonington location. Our clinic in Groton, CT, offers partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient treatment, and is conveniently located across the street from The Inn at Trails Corner, a new 180 bed dormitory-style sober community for adult men and women who attend our outpatient day treatment programs. The Inn offers overnight accommodations, full-meal service, indoor/outdoor recreation options, a workout room, and computer center for all clients. We accept private insurance, state-funded plans and self-pay arrangements. Job Summary: The Detox Support Specialist (DSS) observes the unit to ensure the safety and security of the environment for clients and visitors of the Substance Use Disorder Facility.Essential Job Functions - Client and Unit Surveillance: Assist with client screening, admission, discharge, orientation and assessment functions as assigned by Supervisor. Conducts 15 or 30 minute checks on all clients, or as dictated by precaution level, for duration of shift. Completes necessary observation log documentation. Collect and complete vital signs, urine screens, strip searches and accurately securing and documenting client inventory. Facilitate client orientation, educational and recreational groups. Communicates relevant information to staff and clinical team through documentation and verbal report. Develops and maintains professional boundaries and relations with clients. Searches client rooms and common areas for contraband. Secures contraband and reports to nursing and clinical staff. Adheres to program procedures and enforces rules, regulations, and policies and ensures client adherence to same. Responds to client and program crisis and reports incidents to supervisor and program administrator as detailed in program incident reporting procedures. Maintains safety, appearance, and cleanliness of the facility. Completes paperwork needed for lab work, end of shift report and DSS audits. Completes data entry and filing for admissions screenings as necessary This is a per-diem position.Stonington Institute employees receive great opportunities.
