Position: Mechanic - Amphibious Combat VehiclePosition Overview:The Mechanic is responsible for servicing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing Amphibious Combat Vehicle equipment to ensure minimal interruption to testing and operations. This role involves providing technical assistance during testing, troubleshooting, and repairs, including battle damage repairs, de-processing, and vehicle storage.Key Responsibilities:Service and maintain Amphibious Combat Vehicles.Provide technical support during testing and repair phases.Conduct battle damage repairs and de-processing.Ensure proper storage and handling of vehicles.Skills Required:Communication:Effectively communicate vehicle diagnosis, repair times, parts requirements, and other technical observations with Field Service Representatives (FSRs).Teamwork:Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive image of the company and its products/services.Work effectively across diverse customer bases and cultures, requiring courtesy and tact in all exchanges.Skills Preferred:Ability to proficiently use hand tools, shop tools (e.g., micrometers, depth gauges, finish gauges), power tools, lifting devices, and support equipment safely and effectively.Experience Required:Amphibious Combat Vehicle Maintenance: Minimum of 2 years of experience, including both land and swim operations.Cursor 16 Engine: At least 2 years of experience and training.Allison 4800 Series Transmission: At least 2 years of relevant experience and knowledge.Military Maintenance Systems: Familiarity with all levels of repair.Technical Manuals and Engineering Data: Ability to interpret and utilize technical manuals, schematics, and engineering drawings.System Troubleshooting: In-depth understanding of troubleshooting techniques.Experience Preferred:Proficiency in the use of hand and shop tools, including micrometers and gauges.Experience with power tools, lifting equipment, and support devices.Education Required:High School Diploma or equivalent.Relevant Associate's degree or military school training.4+ years of work experience in the mechanical, electrical, or electronic fields, specifically with military products.Education Preferred:Marine Corp Occupational Specialties:2141 - AAV Repairer2147 - LAV Repairer3521 - Automotive MaintenanceProficient in maintenance and troubleshooting of AAV7A1/LAV or other combat vehicles.EOE (Veteran/Disability)
