SUMMARY The Inventory Support Specialist will oversee the stocking and organization of all anesthesia supplies, as well as medications for the ASC, Anesthesia Carts, and ASC Emergency Crash Carts. The Inventory Support Specialist will be responsible for maintaining par levels for all ASC anesthesia disposables and medications. Inventory Support Specialist will prepare machinery for MH cases ahead of scheduled cases and have capability of troubleshooting anesthesia equipment. Inventory Support Specialist will coordinate all preventative maintenance and facilitate scheduling of service as required for anesthesia equipment. This position will assist the Surgery Center Purchasing Agent in day-to-day surgery center purchasing and stocking. Demonstrates quality patient service during interactions with patients, coworkers, and vendors: * Exhibits a positive attitude and is flexible in accepting work assignments and priorities * Meets attendance and tardiness expectations * Is dependable; follows policies and procedures * Maintains professionalism in interactions with patients and coworkers * Performs quality work and consistently exhibits initiative ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Provide the highest level of eye care, adhering to best practices in infection control and prevention as set forth in ASC policies and procedures to achieve quality outcomes that enhance the lives of our patients. * Demonstrates knowledge and application of sterile technique, instruments, and supplies needed for anesthesia cases. * Communicates, interacts, and participates in teamwork within the ASC. * Establishes and maintains all ASC anesthesia medication Inventory and stock levels for each drug for all locations and shares this report with the head of anesthesia services on a monthly basis. Manages communication between head of anesthesia, DON and Purchasing Department for all anesthesia drugs on backorder. Manages the stock levels for all anesthesia carts. Provide closed loop communication of when medications are on back order or coming off backorder. All communication will be managed in a monthly report to be created. * Assist the Purchasing Department in stocking, ordering, receiving, of supplies on a daily basis. * Ensures non-narcotic medications are available for the CRNA and RN in the operating room while being vigilant in identifying diversion of medications. * Ensures intubation equipment is available for each case and assists the doctor or CRNA when necessary. Coordinate with the Bio-Med department for services both routine and urgent. * Manages anesthesia cart inventory on a weekly basis at Middletown and Ivy Pointe locations. Manage anesthesia cart inventory daily at Blue Ash location. All emergency carts and anesthesia carts must be checked for out dates monthly and appropriate PAR levels maintained. * Ensures anesthesia stock room supplies are stocked at Blue Ash, Middletown, and Ivy Pointe locations. Also makes sure supplies are organized, and ordered at appropriate levels. * Oversees and coordinates anesthesia equipment servicing as well as performing basic routine maintenance and checks. * Other duties as assigned. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE * High School diploma or equivalent * Anesthesia Tech experience preferred. Certification preferred. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS * N/A Other Skills and Abilities: * Reliable transportation that would allow employee to go to multiple work locations with minimal notice * Desire to gain industry knowledge and training * Demonstrates initiative in accomplishing practice goals * Ability to grow, adapt, and accept change * Consistently creating a positive work environment by being team-oriented and patient-focused * Ability to work overtime when the business is in need * Ability to interact with all levels of employees in a courteous, professional manner at all times Physical Demands: * While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Education and/or Experience: * High school diploma or general education degree (GED), one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience, COA or COT is preferred.
