Position Summary The Inventory Technician is responsible for maintaining and monitoring supplies at appropriate stock levels. The Inventory Technician assumes accountability and responsibility for ensuring that equipment is available and medical supplies are procured, received and maintained so that they are available when needed, in the necessary quantity to support the needs of the department they are serving. Essential Job Functions/Accountabilities Places purchase orders on a daily basis to maintain appropriate par levels to meet the needs of the departments they serve. Enters data into department systems accurately/in a timely manner while utilizing them proficiently and maintaining accuracy. Reviews purchase orders daily to ensure all items were received. Expedites orders as necessary to assure desired delivery dates are achieved. Serves as intermediary between supplier and requisitioning department, checks on delivery, and/or resolves any changes or problems regarding orders; Facilitates return authorization of goods with vendors printing shipping labels if required. Monitors, maintains and replenishes appropriate supply levels in areas of responsibility including stocking O2 cylinders and removing empty cylinders; Identifies, labels, and rotates items to minimize obsolete/expired product; regularly checks expiration dates on all supplies and proactively replaces items that will be expiring. Monitors Team Cart supplies for expiration dates, replenishing supplies as needed. Performs scheduled cleaning of supply locations including cleaning plastic storage bins and removing excess cardboard from warehouse to ensure a safe environment. Facilitates shipment of supplies/equipment to other locations as requested; Documents equipment loaner/repair to monitor receipt of and return of equipment; Completes Borrow/Lend form for supplies borrowed or loaned to other facilities. Performs service functions; responds to inquiries, performs data entry into computer, answers telephones, Vocera, emails, etc.; assists in data management, transporting equipment, oxygen and supplies; Operates manual equipment within safety guidelines; Assists with orientation of new employees as requested; Assists with physical inventory as directed; Serves as back-up to other functions within the department as directed; Ensures continued development and education of self. Develops and maintains open, honest and mutually beneficial relationships with the director, distribution manager, buyer, coworkers and other department managers, and staff of the departments served in a manner consistent with CCOC's mission, values and philosophies. All other duties not specifically assigned. Position Requirements Education: High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree in closely related field and/or equivalent work experience is preferred. Experience: Minimum of 2 years' experience with medical/surgical supplies, medical terminology or inventory control systems is preferred; 3-5 years of demonstrated experience in field or profession preferred. Technical Skills: Must have a working knowledge of inventory management including par level and inventory control, including units of measure and how they affect inventory levels; must be computer literate with knowledge of database and spreadsheet applications. Certifications/Licenses/Registrations: N/A Schedule: Monday-Friday; 8AM-5PM Status: Full-Time 40 hours per week
