Position Description Advertised Job Summary The USCB Department of Education seeks a seasoned Field Coordinator with wide and deep experience in the Beaufort County School District (BCSD). The Coordinator will work with the Beaufort County School District to approve USCB candidates for the field (including the monitoring of student TB test results, background checks, fingerprints, etc.); recommend USCB internship completers for state teacher certification to the South Carolina Department of Education; develop a cohort model for clinical experiences in all 4 of our teacher certification programs (Early Childhood, Elementary, Secondary English, & Secondary Mathematics); manage the disbursement of payments to Cooperating Teachers (CTs), and coordinate their recertification credits (for serving as CTs); recruit and train new university supervisors; and oversee academic & dispositions contracts for students struggling in their field placements. Minimum Required Education and Experience Masters degree in education and at least 2 years of extensive experience as a classroom teacher, coordinator of field experiences, and practicum. Valid driver's license required. Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials Preferred Qualifications Extensive experience as both a classroom teacher, and as a coordinator of field experiences in Beaufort, Jasper, Colleton and Hampton School districts. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Excellent oral and written communication skills, Ability to work well with public personnel, Ability to learn an agency's mission, programs, and objectives. Knowledge of management principles, Ability to learn an agency's organizational structure. Ability to interpret and apply rules and regulations, Ability to manage work and provide guidance to employees, Ability to make presentations and prepare reports.
