Maintenance Technician

Title: Maintenance Technician/MechanicLocation: Elkhart, IN 8 hour day shift M - F - flexible hours if you prefer early morning or mid-day shift Salary: $27 - $37+/hour depending on experience, education, etcWe are seeking someone with a background in extrusion, rubber, plastics, or injection molding + manintenace experience working in a plant environment.The purpose of this position is installation, repair, and maintenance of electronic and electrical production and facility equipment according to (industry) company standards of safety and quality. Additionally, to supports an environment of continuous improvement by making and implementing suggestions.PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Performs troubleshooting, replacement, and repair of electronic and electro-mechanical systems.Configure and program process instrumentation and VFD's (variable frequency drive)Determine equipment power requirements and maintain proper loading on all power distribution systemUses conduit benders, hand tools, multimeters, amp probes, and voltage testing equipment.Interpret and work from electrical prints and schematics.Complies with all environmental, health, safety, and housekeeping programs.Use mobile equipment as necessary (forklift, man-lift, electric cart).Ability to travel to vendors in the local area if neededREQUIREMENTS:High school diploma or GED equivalentKnowledge of electrical wiring and machine control wiringAble to use tools such as meters and voltage testing equipmentAble to read and interpret schematicsAble to read, understand and interpret CAD generated drawings/blue prints.Able to navigate CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) as well as write follow up workPLC is a plus but not requiredMaintenance/repair experience in a rubber, plastics, extrusion or injection molding plant environmentBenefitsBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceEmployee assistance programFlexible spending accountHealth insuranceHealth savings accountLife insurancePaid time offParental leaveProfessional development assistanceReferral programRetirement planVision insuranceGrowth opportunityFlexible shiftsApplicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.
