General Auto Service Technician

Job Description * Duties include inspection, diagnosis, and replacement of tires and wheels and accessories for cars and light trucks * Perform fluid exchanges, general inspections and maintenance, brake inspection, battery, belts, hoses, filters * Perform a variety of other duties: replacing wiper blades, bulbs, performing test drives * Focus on building customer relationships and their current and future needs * Communicate vehicle problems and proposed solutions to customer and/or supervisor * Keep a clean and safe working environment Job Requirements: * Conduct diagnostic procedures to determine the sources of customers' problems and provide accurate repair recommendations * Perform all aspects of automotive maintenance. Tasks including computer resets and procedures, Oil Change reminder resets, Tire Pressure System resets * Maintain a working knowledge of current industry best practices in automotive repair by attending schooling and seminars * Conduct necessary repairs and take vehicles for test drives * Maintain legible and accurate paperwork for both the customer and for our records * Perform all aspects of automotive maintenance and repair. * Clean and maintain the work environment to ensure equipment longevity and workplace safety * Able to create estimates and advise customers of repairs/maintenance needed * Able to use tablet for vehicle inspections * Able to use computer to look up service specifications and service procedures Qualifications: * Automotive repair experience in a professional shop environment is preferred * Strong verbal communication skills * Strong customer service skills * Follow company procedures and protocol * Knowledge of diagnostic tools and equipment * Knowledge of TPMS systems and reset procedures * $14.00 - $16.00 per hour based on experience
