Summary The Press Maintenance Technician responsibilities include maintaining, and repairing stamping press equipment to the subassembly or component level, developing preventive and predictive maintenance procedures, participating in continuous improvement efforts for equipment, process, and maintenance programs, plus cross-training plant personnel. This position assists in implementing machine modifications and upgrades, conducts research and development to resolve issues, and recommends improvements to the overall performance of the plant equipment and systems with lean manufacturing tools like SMED, and 5s. The position requires prior experience with Stamping Press maintenance and repair, plus basic equipment maintenance experience. Daily requirements include troubleshooting and performing preventative maintenance, repairs, and replacement of industrial equipment including power transmission components, conveyors, pumps, valves, piping, pneumatic/hydraulic systems, brakes, and clutches. â— Regular Work Schedule: â—‹ First Shift: 5:00am to 3:30pm (Monday through Thursday) â—‹ Overtime as required Essential Duties Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to: â— Maintain, adjust and repair stamping presses, 22 stamping presses in total, ranging from 60-400 ton. OEMs include, Seyi, Aida, Clearing, Blow, Minister, Johnson and others. â— Perform troubleshooting and repairs, and preventative maintenance, on other industrial equipment including, conveyors, pumps, valves, piping, gearboxes, pneumatic/hydraulic systems, and electromechanical machinery when needed. â— Initiate, develop and participate in the implementation of equipment modifications, equipment upgrades and continuous process improvements to improve productivity and reliability. â— Provide technical guidance to personnel in proper maintenance procedures. â— Assist in improving unscheduled downtime and maintenance costs. â— Document equipment maintenance including inspections, repairs and modifications. â— Conduct technical audits of equipment condition status and report findings. â— Perform all duties in a safe manner, avoiding injuries to self and all coworkers. â— Actively pursue and maintain total plant safety. â— Demonstrate a sense of urgency to correct operational and safety problems. â— Clean equipment and building to maintain housekeeping standards. Physical Demands â— Physical ability and stamina required to perform diversified maintenance work in a manufacturing plant workplace setting. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Under This Roof, We Require â— High school graduate with extensive experience or a 2-year technical degree. â— Minimum of 3 years maintaining and repairing punch press machinery. â— Experience performing preventative maintenance, repairs, and replacement of industrial equipment including power transmission components, conveyors, pumps, valves, and piping. â— Ability to use basic hand tools and other tools required by your area of technical expertise. â— Safety consciousness with a thorough understanding of federal, state, local and plant-wide safety standards and concepts. â— Must demonstrate proficiency with basic office computer software and the ability to learn how to use Maximo maintenance management software effectively. â— Provide shift, weekend, and holiday coverage according to the maintenance work schedule. â— Physical ability and stamina required to perform diversified maintenance work in a manufacturing plant workplace setting. Under This Roof, We Also Value â— Technical degree. â— Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to perform diversified maintenance Work. â— Experience with Lock Tag Verify to remove all energy sources from equipment. â— Experience working with both industrial pneumatic and hydraulic systems. â— Technical skills reflecting an understanding of theoretical concepts as well as practical application. â— Good communication skills: verbal, listening, reading and writing. â— Strong work ethic including attendance, safety and performance and a desire for Self-improvement. â— Have a positive attitude and be motivated, responsible, and trustworthy. â— Demonstrate enthusiasm for "hands-on" work in a manufacturing plant environment. â— Willingness to seek assistance and collaborate with support personnel. â— Demonstrate good teamwork in supporting all plant goals. â— Possess the ability to use fork trucks and moveable work platforms.
