Senior Transportation Planner (Kansas City)

Description The Senior Planner will contribute to the production and delivery of tasks and projects including management and training of staff. Lead a variety of projects, which may include corridor concept development, bicycle and pedestrian improvement development, multi-modal transportation analyses, traffic analyses, community planning efforts, zoning code development, and support public outreach and transit evaluation. + Lead analysis and planning activities ranging from small to large projects. + Quality review written reports and deliverables. + Manage relationships with existing clients, customers and contractors and develop new business opportunities. + Responsible for ensuring revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. + Provide leadership, guidance, and instruction to the department. + Manage sales and marketing efforts, identify, and manage key pursuits. + Manage the development of cost proposals and qualification statements to achieve stated targets and standards for financial performance. + Quality review and approve project budgets and cost estimates. Report project performance. + Responsible for QA/QC process adherence. + Responsible for compliance with company and site safety policies. + All other duties as assigned. Qualifications + Bachelor's or master's degree in Planning or related field. Applicable experience may be substituted for degree requirement. + Minimum of 8 years experience in planning. + AICP registration preferred. + Advanced oral and written communication skills. + Strong knowledge of ESRI GIS applications preferred. + Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Professional Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). + Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills. + Advanced written and verbal communication skills. + Advanced attention to detail.
