Among the key duties of this position are the following: * Performs a wide range of mechanical maintenance duties required to repair University equipment in good operating condition. * Assumes responsibility for estimation of workforce and materials and coordination of the work of the group, in the absence of the authorized lead person. For details, please go to Seniority Unit Terms of Appointment Staff - 12 month Position Pension Eligibility PERS Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience * Requires a high school/vocational school education or equivalent plus three years of experience performing mechanical/electrical maintenance and repair work on industrial type motors and pumps. Certifications/Licenses * A valid driver's license with two years driving experience is necessary. * Will be required to successfully complete the Rutgers Defensive Driving Course. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities * Must be competent in performing complex varied mechanical/electrical maintenance and repair work on industrial-type motors and pumps (electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, etc.) * Successful completion of an approved training program or of a certified apprenticeship program in the trade may be substituted for the above experience. Preferred Qualifications Equipment Utilized * Will focus routinely on commercial foodservice equipment; refrigerators, freezers, ice machines, soda distribution systems and Dining infrastructure HVAC; air and water filters, belts, bearings, cooling towers, valves and controls. Physical Demands and Work Environment Special Conditions * Evening, weekend and Occasional Holiday work will be required.
