Summary:River Point Farms is seeking a collaborative and self-motivated Maintenance Technician to join the local team! The Maintenance Technician supports the onion packing facility in Hermiston. Responsibilities:• Safely perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and plant's equipment. • Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service. • Tasks include, but are not limited to, supporting tasks related to Packaging Mechanical, PLC/Process Controls, Electrical, Welding/Fabrication, and General Maintenance. • Interpret drawings, equipment manuals, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service. • Diagnose problems, replace and/or repair parts, test equipment, and make adjustments. • Maintain records on Preventive/Predictive Maintenance Programs, such as logs for compressors, plumbing, and refrigeration units. • Troubleshoot electrical circuits and translate/update wiring diagrams. • Establish and maintain professional relationships with co-workers, industry partners, and vendors. • Meet individual deadlines, while collaborating on various team tasks and supporting multiple projects simultaneously. • Follow all company safety policies and procedures while championing a best-in-class safety culture. Qualifications:• 3+ years in facilities management plant mechanical maintenance, manufacturing or related experience. • High diploma or equivalent. Associates Degree or trade school certification preferred. LME preferred • Ability to troubleshoot and repair packaging equipment and general manufacturing plant equipment desired. • Allen Bradley PLC programming, Allen Bradley Panel View, and strong electrical and instrumental background • Electrical fundamentals and basic theory including AC and DC circuits and equipment, maintaining circuit breakers, motor control centers and transformers as well as PLC familiarization. • Working with high-voltage, 3 phase electricity. • Fabrication and design experience. • Basic motor, gearbox, pump, bearing and belt replacement skills necessary. • Expert knowledge of OSHA regulations, lock-out/tag-out, confined space entry, PPE, fall-prevention, and other standard safety-related programs. Knowledge of electrical safety.• Food processing knowledge (Food grade lubricants, Kosher knowledge, and food safety/sanitation). • Valid in-state driver's license. Ability to operate forklift, electric or gas powered. • Bilingual is a plus • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the role including manual dexterity and be able to work outside in year-round weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, and snow. • Ability to work nights, weekends and rotating shifts as required.
