The BUSSW and Center for Innovation in Social Work (CISWH) currently invites applications for a Project Manager (PM) to coordinate and manage a five-year NIH funded study conducted at the CISWH and Boston Medical Center. Study goals are to train community health workers to deliver behavioral counseling in a primary care setting to reduce substance use and to improve mental health in Spanish and in English. The Project Manager is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the day to day study operations of this hybrid study which combines a randomized effectiveness trial with a study of implementation feasibility, across different sites. There is travel required within the state. Tasks will include: overseeing randomization, helping to secure the integrity and confidentiality of the patient data, managing the export of data to RECAP, writing and managing reports to the BU IRB, NIH, and to the Data Safety Monitoring Board. The Project Manager will supervise research assistant activities related to screening, recruitment, and the scheduling of baseline assessments and follow-ups and will assist the PI with training. The Project Manager will oversee and coordinate the process evaluation of implementation at the BMC, assist with qualitative research, and supervise participant compensation. The Project Manager will oversee data management issues to ensure all subjects are tracked and all data are prepared and entered for statistical analysis. He/she will also conduct preliminary statistical analysis of data. The Project Manager will participate in the weekly scientific meetings with the P.I. and research team for project development and planning, at BMC and will coordinate meetings of the DSMB. She/he will may participate in the preparation of conference presentation and manuscripts with opportunities for co-authorship. She/he may also assist with preparation of study budgets for reporting and grant preparation and with the preparation of grant applications.
