STS Packaging, a Schwarz Partners, L.P. affiliate company is currently seeking Maintenance Technicians to support our Charlotte, NC facility for day and night shifts! The primary responsibility of the Maintenance Technician is to maintain all equipment, machinery, and building in good working order and repair as necessary. Maintenance Technicians are responsible for individual compliance with all safety rules, regulations, and policy procedures. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION: Provide and maintain appropriate tools (and toolbox w/ lock) to perform all necessary job functions. Perform work order repairs as needed and preventative maintenance as scheduled on all machinery and equipment including, Weber SOS Bag Machines, KBA Flexotecnica C.I. Presses, Conveyor System, Fork Lifts, and Auxiliary Equipment (Chillers, Air Compressors, Bailer, etc.) Complete all assigned Work Orders in a timely manner. Excellent understanding of pneumatics, electrical controls and hydraulics with ability to diagnose and correct problems. Application of strong mechanical and electrical knowledge such as abilities in timing gears, rebuilding pumps/motors, reading schematics, etc. Strong troubleshooting abilities to identify root cause and correction actions. Maintain Maintenance Parts Inventory and Plant Sanitation standards including: Ensuring tag is pulled and turned in when part is pulled out of inventory. Recording correct parts used on all work orders. Parts are re-stocked in appropriate location per Infor System. Breakdown and setup product on machinery to quality, machine, and housekeeping standards. Perform all facility shutdown and startup procedures correctly and completely. Operate all PIT equipment per OSHA specifications (including daily inspections & changing of batteries). Perform all housekeeping functions necessary to business operations (from daily shift requirements to Plant Sanitation audits) in respective work areas. Work overtime as business demands, including monthly training classes as mandated by OSHA and Plant Sanitations Certifications. Perform any and all job assignments/functions (including special projects) as necessary to daily business demands as instructed by Management. SAFETY: Compliance with all facility rules and regulations. Report any unsafe practices and/or conditions to their Supervisor. Maintain floor safety discipline by interceding with fellow employees, who may engage in rule violations and/or unsafe, unhealthy activities. Communicate to Management those employees who persist in violations of safety rules and/or procedures. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)/properly and reporting any defective PPE. Report all near misses, accidents, injuries, including Muscular Skeletal symptoms or disorders. REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: Must follow Safety/GMP/PPE guidelines. Ability to work rotating 12hr shift, including weekends and overtime. Strong mechanical knowledge. Attention to detail and quality conscious. Team-oriented mindset. Computer proficient. Excellent math and reading/writing abilities. Desire to accept additional responsibility and learn new tasks. PREFERRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: Knowledge of paper packaging a plus, but not required. Physical Ability Requirements: Continuous standing and walking with minimal sitting. Able to bend, twist, kneel in and around machines - involves frequent, constant, continuous, and repetitive motions. Frequent ladder and stair climbing.
