This is an exciting opportunity to perform a variety of semi-skilled repair, maintenance, and grounds duties for the Capitol Complex and outlying facilities. DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Maintenance Repairman 1, you perform a wide variety of semi-skilled maintenance and repair work on all grounds keeping vehicles and equipment for DGS crafts and trades with the maintenance garage. Work includes but is not limited to assisting mechanics, responding to service calls for breakdowns of vehicles and equipment, and operating a variety of repair and grounds keeping tools, vehicles, and equipment. You will also be responsible for the appearance, general care, and maintenance of the grounds to include gardens, trees, shrubbery, lawn care, and snow and ice removal in the Complex and outlying facilities. Work Schedule and Additional Information: * Full-time employment * Work hours are 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. * Essential Employee - required to work during emergencies and office closings. * Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. * You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: * Two years of experience in general maintenance work which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or * Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities. Special Requirement: * You must possess a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License. Additional Requirements: * You must be able to perform essential job functions.
