Videos Help Duties Lifecycle Management * Conducts short, mid and long-term advanced planning for new and replacement NX assets, utilizing enterprise-wide computerized planning tools. * Utilizes a range of well-established and commonly applied inventory principles, standard and non-standard methodologies, and concepts to determine need to intervene in the supply system in response to fluctuations in rates of usage, cost, availability for established suppliers, alternative sources of supply and other similar conditions. * Participates in VISN and facility strategic planning to support major and minor construction projects, activation of new facilities, and reuse of existing space involving multi-million dollar projects. * Independently determines the best purchasing and payment method to utilize; i.e. purchase card order, contract document, etc. Decisions regarding procurement methods are made in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and the VA Acquisition Regulations (VAAR) for competition and formal advertisement. * Develops and supports the creation of acquisition strategies and standardization initiatives to acquire and purchase high-tech, high-cost medical devices, surgical equipment devices and major classes of materials, displaying familiarity with contracting laws and regulations with industry practices. * Reviews and reports back to Fiscal on listings of delinquent payments and receipts of equipment purchase orders. * Supports other elements of the organization and performs other duties as assigned. Inventory Management Control * Manages and controls NX assets for a VA HCS and supported catchment area. Recognized as an authority on NX asset management and serves as a subject matter expert to all services and service lines. * Trains and assists delegated Custodial Officials on equipment acquisition, disposal, scanning and tracking of equipment for Ell Custodial Official inventories, providing oversight and project management. * Ensures equipment accountability at each service line is appropriately managed, assigned, and monitored through the monthly 5% inspection program. * Manages and controls all inventory transactions for non-expendable medical equipment requests and transactions. * Initiates Reports of Survey (ROS) for lost, damaged or stolen property. Reviews ROS for accuracy and completeness; solicits additional information from Service Lines or designated officials to clarify or explain circumstances surrounding the report. * Capitalizes all equipment over $1,000,000.00 in the Ell and the Fixed Asset Package (FAP) reports monthly depreciation values to Fiscal Service. Researches existing stock catalogs, manufacturer's catalogs and drawings to identify matching characteristics for proper description. * Supports other elements of the organization and performs other duties as assigned. Physical Requirements: Involves a mix of working in an office environment to working in a warehouse to assist in processing new equipment receipts and entering into the Ell. A great amount of time walking and climbing stairs is required to conduct on-site inventories of Ell equipment. Lifting of up to 40 pounds is required when receiving new equipment at the facility and preparing for the sale of excess property. Work conditions are often indoors, but could occasionally be dirty, hot, humid or unusually cold when involved in property inventories, disposal of equipment, transferring of equipment between serviced locations and recycling centers.
