About Us Highly-acclaimed Marea, from famed hospitality firm Altamarea Group and located on Central Park South, is looking for energetic and passionate Sommeliers to join the team. Meaning "tide" in Italian, Marea redefines the seascape of high-end Italian cuisine offers employees the opportunity to work with quality Italian cuisine and wine/spirits, a respectful, safe, professional work environment, and a management team uniquely invested in the growth and success of all team members. Sommelier Responsibilities include: - Actively engage in service, including running food, bussing tables, and anything else needed to enhance the guest experience, and lead with a hands-on approach. - Take the lead in growing wine/beverage sales in the restaurant and develop strong guest relationships - Help maintain the wine cellar, the beverage storeroom, and assist in monthly inventories Sommelier Requirements: - 4 years of restaurant industry experience preferred, with 2 years of experience working with beverage - Solid foundation with Italian and French wine and spirits. - Candidates should be highly organized, efficient, and be able to work precisely - Ability to multitask and plan ahead - Ability to teach and encourage the restaurant staff to develop their wine knowledge - Candidates should demonstrate creativity and a commitment to the brand success - Must have a flexible schedule and open availability to meet business needs What We Offer At Altamarea Group, we are committed to creating a supportive and professionally rewarding work environment for all of our team members.
