Videos Help Duties This position has the responsibility of issuing special use permits for the Mojave National Preserve to include weddings, filming, demonstrations, athletic events, First Amendment activities and other permits such as operation of public utilities in a manner that protects park services and visitor enjoyment. * Manage special use permits by processing applications, communicating with applicants, providing information for compliance, and preparing permits for Superintendent approval or denial. * Manage commercial use authorizations by processing applications, communicating with applicants, providing information for compliance, and preparing for Superintendent approval or denial. * Monitor permitted activities to ensure compliance with stipulations. * Utilize a computer, online systems, and other information technology to manage and document permits and authorizations. * Assists with writing memoranda, compliance documents, planning documents, and standard operating procedures within the scope of duties. Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level. The National Park Service has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and the selectee may be allowed to telework with supervisor approval. Promotion to the full performance level is neither guaranteed nor implied and will be based solely on your ability to satisfactorily perform the work of the position, existing work at the higher grade level, and recommendation by the position's supervisor. Qualifications All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-10/16/2024-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement.
