Pasta Cook - High-End Italian Restaurant Location: Santa Monica, CA About Us: Join our upscale Italian restaurant in the heart of Downtown Santa Monica, known for its creative cuisine and classy ambiance. We are currently revamping our kitchen and menu, offering a prime opportunity for an experienced Pasta Cook to grow with us. We emphasize quality, tradition, and innovation in our dishes, creating an unforgettable dining experience. Position: Pasta Cook Responsibilities: Prepare and cook a variety of traditional and modern Italian pasta dishes to perfection. Work with classic Italian ingredients and maintain the authentic flavors of Italy while embracing a modern twist. Execute pasta recipes efficiently, including those featuring pancetta, vegan options, and special house-made sauces. Collaborate with the head chef to develop new pasta dishes that are bold and delicious. Ensure all pasta dishes are plated beautifully and consistently to high standards. Assist with other kitchen duties as needed, including the preparation of proteins (e.g., salmon, lobster, steaks) and sauces (e.g., emulsified mushroom sauce, short rib sauces). Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pasta station, adhering to health and safety regulations. Requirements: Previous experience working in an Italian restaurant is highly preferred. Proficiency in preparing a variety of pastas and sauces, with strong knowledge of traditional Italian techniques. Ability to work quickly and efficiently while maintaining a high standard of quality. Excellent time management skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Bilingual in English and Italian is a plus.
