We are looking for a highly motivated individual to lead, support, and manage a team of technicians in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The successful candidate is a self-starter with strong leadership capabilities that can manage multiple projects and priorities at the same time. This leader will build a team that can work closely with Production, Engineering, Quality and other departments. Your experience in fast-paced production lines as well as strong technical background will make you an ideal candidate for this role. You have a passion for employee development and enjoy the process of training and developing the next generation of techs. You are very hands-on, energetic, and have a capacity to think critically on many different complicated processes. Your proven ability to collaborate with employees, peers, and managers is one of your key strengths for success. * Provide technical training to all Technicians focused on controls, mechanics, electrical, etc. and Lead Technicians on process issues, analysis and problem solving * Align projects to drive department goals by managing operations and driving metrics in critical area. Ensure quality standards are being met throughout the entire production process and support no defects from leaving a station or team area * Management of team includes proactively planning for labor needs in light of production ramp up, communicating job expectations, performing employee performance and objectives reviews, and managing team in alignment of company policies and procedures * Tesla people leaders are responsible for a variety of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) assurance functions, including ensuring their teams' safety training is current, documenting EHS incidents, proactively correcting workplace hazards in the areas, and empowering others to continuously improve operations * Work with cross-functional teams including process engineering, equipment engineering and maintenance teams to drive continuous improvemt project initiatives * Perform complex and precise electro-mechanical trouble shooting to debug, repair and remanufacture products that meets all quality standards. Be able to determine root cause failures of complex electromechanical assemblies * Able to follow schematic diagrams and mechanical drawings to repair battery pack and have a full understanding of test equipment parameters and use of Spock map to analyze results * 4 years of college/technical school or equivalent work experience. Bachelor's Degree in Science or Engineering preferred * 2-4 years of supervisory experience * Ability to work and lead effectively with team and peers within a production and engineering organization * Enthusiastic, innovative, and take-charge attitude. This candidate is able to work independently and set the team's priorities based on competing and urgent needs of the business * Proficient in lean manufacturing methodologies, leadership, data collection and have a strong analytical capability and familiarity with analytical and statistical software systems * Ability to work a flexible shift, including nights and weekend, if necessary * Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal
