OverviewWe are searching for a Production Supervisor with solid leadership skills to supervise the Chemical, Extrusion, Drying Area production activities at Viskase's Osceola, AR plant. This position also supports the Area Supervisor responsible for other areas, such as safety, optimum production and quality at minimum cost, energy, and waste in accordance with corporate and division policies and health, safety, and environmental regulations. Key to this role is your people leadership skills and ability to develop your team into a cohesive group that works well together and delivers results!Essential Responsibilities in this role: Plan and control production and waste activities of chemical areas in accordance with budget standards and production schedules, and explain variances.Handle line responsibilities on one particular area Leads, trains, motivate, and develops production team associates, ensuring their future growth to the next levelMonitor and maintain records of daily production activities.Monitor area operations to maintain and achieve quality and productivity goals.Continuous improvement - update, develop, and recommend operating procedures.Review personnel issues, recommend corrective action to department management and HRProvide information and service to management on operation matters.Safety Oversight - lead and provide training to emergency brigade members, ensure adherence to all local and corporate safety policies. Promote department and overall plant safety objectives.Education and Requirements:High school diploma or GED a must, AA degree or higher preferred.Minimum 2 years of experience as a supervisor in a manufacturing plant, supervising a medium sized hourly team (20 or more).Must have troubleshooting experience in electrical and mechanical equipment and ideally knowledge of chemical processesLeadership skills including managing, mentoring coaching and developingTechnical background/manufacturing operations experienceBeing able to understand flow is going in pipe valves open or shut, a lot of chemical process and controlling process. Has to be able to follow flow.
