Known for its old-fashioned saloon-style atmosphere, speakeasy, and diverse music programming, Townhouse has been a beloved destination for locals and tourists alike. Our venue offers a mix of classic cocktails, craft beers, and nightly live music, attracting a wide range of patrons. We're seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to oversee day-to-day operations, lead our team, and ensure the continued success of this iconic venue. Job Overview: The General Manager (GM) is responsible for the overall management of Townhouse, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, operational efficiency, and profitability. The GM will lead a team of bartenders, servers, security, and entertainment staff, ensuring smooth venue operations and a positive working environment. This position requires a hands-on leader who is passionate about hospitality, live entertainment, and creating memorable guest experiences. Key Responsibilities: 1. Operations Management: Oversee all daily operations, ensuring seamless coordination between bar service, live music events, and guest services. Maintain a high standard of cleanliness, organization, and safety across all areas of the venue. Manage the venue's operational budget, controlling costs related to labor, inventory, and maintenance. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and liquor licensing regulations. 2. Team Leadership and Development: Recruit, train, and manage a talented team of bartenders, servers, security, and event staff. Foster a positive work culture that emphasizes collaboration, professionalism, and guest-centric service. Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for team members. Schedule staff to meet the needs of the business, ensuring adequate coverage for high-volume nights and special events. 3. Guest Experience: Maintain a warm, welcoming atmosphere for all guests, ensuring top-tier hospitality at every touchpoint. Handle guest concerns or complaints promptly and professionally, aiming to resolve any issues on-site. Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement strategies for growing the venue's customer base and enhancing the overall guest experience. 4. Event and Entertainment Management: Work with entertainment and booking teams to schedule live performances, DJs, and special events that align with Townhouse's brand and appeal to the target audience. Coordinate with artists, sound engineers, and performers to ensure all technical and logistical aspects of live events run smoothly. Oversee the promotion of events, working closely with the marketing team to maximize attendance and revenue. 5. Inventory and Financial Management: Manage inventory, including ordering and stocking of bar supplies, liquor, and other essential items. Track and analyze sales trends, adjusting pricing, promotions, or offerings to optimize revenue. Conduct regular inventory counts and control shrinkage to ensure financial integrity. 6. Marketing and Community Engagement: Collaborate with the marketing department to promote Townhouse through social media, email campaigns, and partnerships with local businesses. Engage with the Venice Beach community to build strong relationships and partnerships that can drive business. Plan and execute promotional events, themed nights, and collaborations with local brands and artists. Qualifications: 3+ years of management experience in the bar, nightclub, or live music venue industry. Strong leadership and team-building skills, with a proven ability to motivate staff and foster a positive work environment. Experience in event management and live entertainment operations. Excellent understanding of bar and venue operations, including inventory management, staffing, and scheduling. Financial acumen, with the ability to manage budgets, control costs, and analyze sales data. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-first mindset. Strong problem-solving abilities and an ability to handle high-pressure situations. Knowledge of Venice Beach culture and community is a plus. Passion for hospitality, nightlife, and live music.
