Loreto in Frogtown/Elysian Valley is looking for a Part-Time Pastry Cook (dinner) to join the team! We're an upscale-casual Mexican seafood restaurant that specializes in seafood dishes inspired by the fresh ingredients from the Baja coast. We are a full bar restaurant with specialty cocktails and a curated wine selection. Mariscos Za Za Zá is our counter-service lunch concept at the same location. Full weekend (Saturday and Sunday) nights availability required. Compensation for this position includes pooled tips. Responsibilities: Prep, make, and plate pastry menu items for service Prepare all menu items following recipes and yield guides according to standards Understand and apply the correct use of kitchen equipment with respect to safety and maintenance Ensure pastry items are made and maintained to highest quality to serve to guests Actively involved in maintaining and restocking of necessary ingredients/items Adhere to dress code policy in addition to following good personal hygiene habits. Work with a sense of urgency Follow all kitchen guidelines Reports to: BOH managers Qualifications: Restaurant/kitchen experience Food Handler certificate preferred Food and kitchen safety knowledge Ability to lift 50 lbs. Pastry experience preferred Kitchen experience required Compensation: $17.28 - $19.00 hourly wage depending on experience Estimated additional tips around $40 - $100+ a week. Tip amounts are not guaranteed and are dependent on hours worked and daily business. This job description is not an exclusive list of all functions of the role.
