Hakubai is a newly redesigned fine-dining Kaiseki restaurant located in The Prince Kitano New York, New York City's only Japanese owned and operated luxury hotel. The menu will feature an 11-course tasting menu focused on seasonal ingredients with traditional execution. The hotel is conveniently located for both business and leisure on New York City's coveted Park Avenue near Grand Central Station. We are seeking an experienced and refined Sommelier to participate in this exciting re-opening. Qualifications and Experience include: 3 years of Fine Dining Bartending experience - required Detailed wine knowledge - required Sommelier certification - Court of Masters Level 2 or equivalent - required Inventory and daily requisitioning experience - required Detailed knowledge of Spirits and Classic Cocktail - required Certified Sake Sommelier - required Understanding and speaking Japanese - required Knowledge of Japanese cuisine and beverage and service standards - preferred Michelin experience - preferred This is a full-time position - the restaurant will operate evenings from Tuesday through Saturday.
